Wedding Dress Shopping Tip #4

Wedding Dress Shopping Tip # 4

There is no need to try on 100 dresses to find the right one. Many brides feel that even though they have found "the" dress, that they still need to try on more dresses and go to every bridal shop in a 50 mile radius. Why put yourself through all that extra work? Shopping for a wedding gown should be special and fun. When brides get obsessed over what else could be out there, then the fun gets sucked right out of the experience. Now no one is saying that you should buy the first gown you try on at the first bridal store you visit but when you put on that special gown and it takes your breath away, stop looking!

There are millions of bridal gowns out there but when you find the right dress, you will know.

Don't be afraid to try on different styles.

You have been dreaming about this day since you were a little girl. While you may have everything perfectly pictured in your mind, don't be afraid to explore your options. There are so many different styles of gowns that you may be surprised what you may actually like once you've put it on. We suggest bringing pictures of the styles you like but don't shy away when we bring in something that is way out of the box.

Wedding Dress Shopping Tip # 2

Try not to bring too many people with you when you go to try on dresses. The worst thing that can happen to a bride when shopping for her wedding gown is to fall in love with something and have someone close to her not like it.

We suggest bringing two or three people who are key in helping you select your wedding gown. Generally speaking, bringing too many people can make it difficult in trying to decide on "the" gown. Everyone has different tastes and it can be very disappointment when you fall in love with a gown and it is shot down by someone you care about. Besides, your wedding gown is the one thing (besides the groom) that you shouldn't look back at in twenty years and wish you had gotten something else.

Wedding Dress Shopping Tip # 1

Don't start looking for a gown too early. Usually 1 year before the wedding is a good time to start looking for a gown. Some brides who purchase their gowns too early tend to second guess their decision. Wedding gown designers release a Spring and Fall collection of wedding gowns each year so the styles are changing all the time. A lot can change in a year. You may find what you liked two years before your wedding is not what you like one year before the wedding.

A wedding gown takes 6 - 8 months to come in depending on the how busy the designers are: If you order your gown too early you must be prepared to have a place to store the dress until the wedding. Most bridal shops will not store your gown for extremebly long periods of time without a fee.
